A day in the life could look like this:

* Sub-editing, fact-checking and completing late-stage editorial refinements

* Managing the proofing process, including two rounds of client review and integration of changes

* Conducting final quality checks and managing approvals through to press

The ideal person

You will bring a high level of editorial judgement, strong writing and editing capabilities and the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible, practical and engaging content.

* 7+ years’ experience in business journalism, senior editing or editorial leadership within reputable business or professional publications.

* Deep understanding of the Australian business landscape, strong business literacy and the ability to translate complex organisational and leadership topics into compelling content for niche and senior audiences.

* Proven capability shaping content for C-suite and senior HR leaders, delivering strategic insight through high-quality features, analysis and thought-leadership.

* Advanced writing, editing and sub-editing skills, including structural and developmental editing, rigorous fact-checking and production of long-form editorial content.

* Experience leading editorial projects end-to-end, including planning, commissioning, contributor management and coordination across production workflows.

* Strong stakeholder and contributor management, including interviewing senior HR leaders and working with freelance writers, SMEs and external partners.

* Skilled in ethical use of AI tools to support and streamline editorial processes without compromising quality.

* Ability to interpret audience insights and performance data to refine and strengthen editorial output.
