Lead marketing and campaigns to make the Melbourne Royal Show an unmissable event, boosting attendance, loyalty, and audience connection.
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the Melbourne Royal Show is known as an iconic, unmissable event for Victorians, driving both new attendance and audience loyalty. The Senior Manager Marketing & Communications will achieve this by leading a high-performing team to deliver compelling campaigns, build the Show's cultural relevance, and strengthen audience connection through insight-led storytelling and strategic marketing execution. Key responsibilities will encompass areas including leadership and collaboration, brand and reputation, audience and market strategy, campaign development and execution, digital marketing and content, ticketing and attendance growth, data and insights, public relations and communications and design.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
* A tertiary qualification in marketing or similar discipline is essential
* 10+ years' experience in a marketing or digital role, ideally in an event/attraction-based environment
* A proven track record in project planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns
* Ability to manage multiple projects against set deadlines and budgets
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, collaborate and share knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet tight timeframes
* Highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to liaise, negotiate and manage strategic relationships
* A high degree of initiative, creativity and innovation
* Collaborative and open, credible and engaging demeanour
* Enthusiastic and self-motivated, flexible and responsive to change
* A sense of humour, fun, diligent and reliable

* Current Working with Children Check required
* Must be available to work the 11 days of the Melbourne Royal Show
* Must be able to work additional hours in the lead up and during events where required
