Job Title: Supply Chain Operations Director
This is a senior leadership role responsible for the effective and efficient management of the warehouse operation. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of warehouse and transport operations in large-scale settings.
The Distribution Centre Manager is responsible for leading the introduction of new business opportunities, innovative processes, and equipment within the contract to achieve maximum payloads and deliver acceptable commercial returns.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and Leading a High-Performance Safety Culture: Foster a culture that prioritizes employee safety and well-being.
* Implementing Initiatives for Cost Containment and Profit Maximization: Develop and execute strategies to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs.
* Resolving Client Service Requirements: Investigate and resolve queries/issues related to client service requirements.
* Maintaining Optimal Performance through KPIs: Formulate, implement, and monitor appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimal performance.
* Customer Partnerships and Relationship Management: Develop and lead customer partnerships and high-level customer relationship management.
* Operational Excellence: Deliver the most productive outcomes for the organization through effective utilization of warehouse and transport resources while meeting or exceeding customer service expectations.
* Team Leadership and Development: Lead, motivate, develop, and performance manage operational team members towards best practices.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced DC Manager who can demonstrate leadership and execute service excellence in a transport operation across their customer network.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Extensive Knowledge of Warehouse and Transport Operations: Strong understanding of warehouse and transport operations in large-scale settings.
* Strong Financial and Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in developing and executing financial plans and operational targets.
* Proven Experience in Developing and Leading CI/Lean Programs: Ability to design and implement Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean programs across warehousing and transport.
* High-Level Negotiation and Communication Skills: Proven experience in negotiating with staff and third parties, including unions.
* Leadership and Team Development: Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and performance manage operational team members towards best practices.
