The Opportunities
1. System Administrator – Linux & AWS (Classified Environment)
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to support the delivery and ongoing operation of a secure, high-availability platform in Linux and AWS environments for a major national security program. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability, security, and compliance of mission-critical systems in a classified setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer, maintain, and monitor Linux-based systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), including patching, configuration, and performance tuning.
* Manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Lambda, backup services), ensuring availability, security, and compliance.
* Implement and maintain security controls in line with organisational policies and Essential Eight requirements.
* Build and enhance automated systems using tools such as Ansible and Semaphore.
* Develop and document technical processes, promoting knowledge sharing within the team.
* Provide second/third-level support, troubleshoot complex issues, and advise on capacity and performance management.
* Secure and audit systems based on ISM and PSPF standards.
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures.
What You'll Need
* Experience in ICT or a related field, with a broad range of skills across hardware, software, networking, and IT infrastructure.
* Strong expertise in Red Hat Linux administration, AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, Backup), and automation tools (Ansible, Semaphore).
* Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, ELK Stack).
* Applied experience with database administration (MySQL, DynamoDB).
* Proven ability to troubleshoot network connectivity and routing issues.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure settings.
2. ICT System Administrator – Governance & Compliance (Classified Environment)
We are also seeking a specialist ICT System Administrator to undertake governance and compliance for enterprise hardware and service capabilities, ensuring ongoing resilience and serviceability of existing hosting and network systems in a highly classified environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and research new technologies.
* Build automated systems and establish standards.
* Architect solutions and provide second/third-level support.
* Advise on capacity and performance management.
* Secure and audit systems based on ISM standards.
* Script and program tasks, troubleshoot hardware/software/network problems.
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to multi-vendor installations and upgrades.
* Ensure technical systems adhere to Essential Eight, ISM, and PSPF frameworks.
What You'll Need
* Demonstrated experience and broad range of skills across hardware, software, networking, and IT infrastructure.
* Applied experience with Oracle infrastructure, Linux/Unix systems.
* Proven experience with network protocols and technologies.
* Experience in complex enterprise infrastructure and multi-vendor environments.
* Experience in planning, installation, upgrades, and compliance.
* Bachelor's or higher degree in ICT or related field (desirable).
* Experience managing complex projects and ICT infrastructure environments (desirable).
* Experience with database administration, including backup and recovery (desirable).
