This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to drive meaningful change and achieve long-term environmental and economic goals in Tasmania. As Section Head - Programs and Strategic Engagement, you will lead a small team focused on advancing the state's transition to a circular economy.
The role involves designing and delivering key waste and resource recovery initiatives, working with industry, regional stakeholders, and the community to ensure successful implementation of funded programs, contributing to policy development, and supporting innovation within the sector.
* Design and deliver key waste and resource recovery initiatives that advance Tasmania's transition to a circular economy.
* Work collaboratively with industry, regional stakeholders, and the community to ensure successful implementation of funded programs.
* Contribute to the development of policies that support sustainable waste management practices.
* SUPPORT INNOVATION WITHIN THE SECTOR BY IDENTIFYING AND CAPITALISING ON NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR WASTE REDUCTION AND RESOURCE RECOVERY.
The Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board plays a crucial role in reinvesting the landfill levy and driving impactful investment to reduce waste to landfill and keep valuable resources in use for as long as possible.
The Board is dedicated to targeted resource recovery initiatives, robust data collection, and analysis to inform future decision-making and delivering results that reduce waste and shape the future of waste and resource recovery in the state.
This is a permanent position located in either Hobart, Launceston or Devonport (to be negotiated).
