About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an Associate (2-3 PQE) to join our Restructuring & Insolvency team in our Perth office.

This role will see you play a key role on high-profile, complex advisory and corporate insolvency matters as well as insolvency-related litigation.

You will work closely with our partner, Alistair Fleming, and other senior lawyers whilst benefiting from structured training and mentoring. It is a significant career opportunity that offers exposure to challenging legal work in a collaborative and supportive environment.

About the Team

Our Restructuring and Insolvency team is regarded by the market as a top tier offering, and part of a strong national practice advising on many of the most high-profile matters in Australia.

The practice spans front-end transactional restructuring, comprehensive insolvency advisory work, insolvency-related litigation and commercial litigation.

We act for a broad range of stakeholders including restructuring and turnaround professionals, insolvency practitioners, financiers, debt and equity holders, and hedge funds—on all aspects of financial distress, insolvency and special situations.

About You

You obviously have plenty of technical aptitude, but there is much more to you. You:

* have 2-3 years' post admission experience in private practice, with a background in any or all of insolvency, restructuring (including from a banking and finance perspective) and commercial litigation;
* work well to meet deadlines and in a team, but also excel working autonomously on tasks appropriate for your experience level;
* have strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to foster and build productive working relationships with colleagues and clients;
* enjoy and seek client engagement and business development opportunities; and
* take a collaborative, positive and energetic approach to everything you do.
