An opportunity exists for a Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join a busy federal electorate office in Perth's northern suburbs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on community engagement, understands local networks ( physical and online), and can translate on-the-ground activity into strong digital and social media outcomes.
About the Role
You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with community organisations, schools, unions, small businesses, and local government across the electorate. You will support community events, school engagement, and ministerial visits, while identifying, pitching and capturing local stories and opportunities for social media and communications. Supporting our head of digital to deliver on our digital channels.
Applicants who can provide a folio of digital work or project examples will be viewed favourably, as this demonstrates practical skills and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with community and stakeholder groups
* Coordinate and support community events, forums, and school engagement
* Identify and generate local social media content and opportunities
* Prepare briefings and background material for community engagements
* Maintain stakeholder records and monitor emerging local issues
About You
You will bring:
* Demonstrated experience in stakeholder or community engagement
* Strong local networks or the ability to build them quickly
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong social media skills, particularly Facebook and Instagram, including field production skills, videography and building a storied shot. Experience with online communities a bonus
* Sound judgement and the ability to work in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment
Experience in political offices, unions, advocacy, or local government will be highly regarded.
