About the Role:
Reporting to our Director of Sales and Marketing, our Events & Catering Coordinator will be the spark to lead the planning and execution of all Red Gum BBQ events. You will manage Events from our annual 4th of July celebrations to Thanksgiving feasts, Halloween parties, Weddings, Corporate functions, off-site Festivals, and Catering events. You'll manage each event from conception to completion and proactively drive inquiries, convert leads into bookings, and actively seek new business opportunities to grow our events calendar and catering revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to all inbound inquiries, follow up on event leads, and craft compelling proposals that convert to new business.
* Drive new business: Seek out fresh opportunities—cold outreach, local networking, or tapping into community partnerships.
* Plan, coordinate, and manage all functions, events, and catering—from enquiry to execution (contracting, logistics, entertainment, venue setup)
* Be the main point of contact for clients—professional, personable, and responsive.
* Develop event schedules and ensure seamless delivery, including occasional evenings and weekends when needed.
* Collaborate with suppliers, venues, and hire companies to bring Red Gum BBQ’s brand to life.
* Ensure every event reflects our mission, values, and unique Red Gum experience.
About You:
* You have proven experience in event coordination, hospitality and /or catering.
* You’re sales-driven—you thrive on closing deals, chasing leads, and smashing targets.
* You’re proactive, organised, and skilled at juggling multiple priorities.
* You build rapport easily and communicate with warmth and confidence.
* You’re comfortable working occasional evenings or weekends to get the job done.
