You'll also be tasked with maintenance tasks within the Estate with a strong emphasis on proactive maintenance across all necessary services and resources. To be successful in this position you will need to be someone who is approachable, reliable and brings enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to your work.Tasks May Include But Not Be Limited ToHorticultural and grounds development, maintenance and monitoring,Garden beds re-planting and maintenance to maximise seasonal conditionsPruning of trees and shrubsLawns mowing, edging, fertilising and weeding;Clearing and removal of garden refuse;Path, drains and edge repair and maintenance;Ensuring that fences and retaining walls are maintained in good repair;Undertaking of routine repair work and maintenance, which requires prior experience and is trade related in and about the buildings;Ensuring gardening machinery/equipment (e.g. mowers) service schedules planning and implementation according to manufacturers’ recommendations.What will you bring to the role?Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or related field (highly regarded)Previous experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance and gardeningPosses knowledge of trade resources and suppliers of materialsCurrent manual drivers licenceExceptional people and interpersonal skillsWell developed written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate with various stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectivelyWho is Southern Cross Care Queensland?Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago.
