Summary
We’re looking for an experienced RPEQ Structural Engineer to join Waterline and contribute to our mission of delivering safe and sustainable resource solutions to Australian industry. In this role, you’ll work across the full asset lifecycle—supporting studies, design, project execution, commissioning, operations, and decommissioning. You’ll be involved in a diverse range of engineering projects, applying your technical knowledge and practical experience to deliver high-quality outcomes. With a strong focus on collaboration, communication, and problem-solving, you’ll work both independently and as part of a team to support our clients’ 24/7 operations. Site travel will be required to ensure alignment with client needs, operational schedules, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and review high-quality structural designs, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and client specifications
* Lead small project teams through cost estimation, scope development, and technical delivery to meet budget and timeframe targets
* Undertake site visits to support audits, commissioning, and compliance across heavy industry operations
* Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to junior engineers within the structural team
* Actively contribute to business development by engaging with clients, identifying project opportunities, and supporting proposal development
* Maintain strong client relationships and uphold Waterline’s reputation as a trusted engineering partner
* Accurately track time, goals, and reporting deliverables, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Experience
* Bachelor of Engineering (Structural)
* RPEQ
* 7+ years of civil/structural engineering experience, including site-based work
* Experience with structural analysis tools (e.g. SpaceGass, Strand7) highly regarded
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Previous team leadership or coaching experience desirable
