Are you a strategic leader with a strong track record in delivering complex projects across multiple regions? We are seeking an experienced General Manager – National Projects to lead and drive performance across our national project portfolio.
Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, this is a critical leadership role responsible for the governance, commercial performance and successful delivery of projects across Australia.
About the Role
As the General Manager – National Projects, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership across all project delivery functions nationwide. You will lead state-based Project Managers and delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in line with contractual obligations and company standards.
This role combines leadership, commercial acumen and operational excellence, with a strong focus on client outcomes and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead, mentor and develop state-based Project Managers and project teams
* Drive a culture of accountability, safety and high performance
* Support recruitment, capability development and performance management
Project Governance & Delivery
* Oversee planning, execution and delivery of projects nationally
* Establish and maintain governance frameworks, controls and reporting standards
* Provide escalation support for complex project challenges
* Manage financial performance across the national project portfolio
* Oversee budgets, forecasts, margins and cost control
* Review and approve major project commitments and procurement strategies
* Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial frameworks
* Oversee contract negotiations, variations and claims
* Manage and mitigate project risks and disputes
Safety & Compliance
* Champion a strong safety culture across all projects
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and Australian Standards
* Monitor and drive safety performance outcomes
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and partners
* Act as a senior escalation point for key project issues
Business Growth & Improvement
* Identify and support new project opportunities within existing clients
* Contribute to tender strategies and project delivery innovation
* Drive continuous improvement and best practice across teams
About You
* You are a seasoned leader with extensive experience in project delivery within the building services sector.
* 10–15+ years' experience in HVAC, Fire or Electrical services
* Strong commercial, financial and contractual management skills
* Solid understanding of Australian Standards, NCC and WHS legislation
* White Card (or equivalent)
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Building Services or Business
* Formal Project Management certification
* Trade background in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration or Electrotechnology
