Your next career opportunity As the Manager, Events at the University of Melbourne, you'll lead a talented team in delivering an exceptional calendar of high-profile events that showcase the institution's excellence. You'll have the opportunity to shape memorable experiences that align with the University's strategic priorities. Working closely with Chancellery portfolios and faculties, you'll drive meaningful audience engagement, cultivate a high-performing team culture, and contribute to the University's strategic vision as outlined in Strategy 2030: Resilience. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic Event Leadership: Plan and deliver an annual calendar of high-quality in-person, online, and hybrid events, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities. Team Development: Lead and nurture a team of event staff, fostering a collaborative culture that delivers exceptional outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal partners to develop integrated event content and promotional plans, providing expert advice on event elements. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies to enhance event delivery and team capabilities. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all events adhere to relevant regulations, risk management requirements, and University policies. You may be a great fit if: You are an experienced events professional with a strong track record in leadership roles, demonstrating expertise in managing high-profile events, developing teams, and navigating complex stakeholder environments to deliver strategic objectives. You may also: Have extensive work experience in event management, including leadership roles. Demonstrate success in managing high-profile events and implementing effective communication programs. Excel in leading and developing teams to achieve strategic objectives. Possess the ability to navigate large, complex environments through collaboration and stakeholder management. Proven ability to build, establish and maintain collaborative relationships to support management of multiple stakeholders concurrently. 4. Proven ability to manage budgets, with experience reviewing and managing supplier contracts, with special reference to pricing and service delivery. 5. Strong communication skills, including excellent interpersonal and networking skills with demonstrated experience working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to understand and manage expectations through effective communications.
