Our central kitchen produces our food products daily, ensuring consistency and quality across all our locations.Chef - Role OverviewWe are looking for a skilled and motivated chef to prepare fresh, high-quality food for our 14 sites across Geelong. This is a full-time, ongoing position with 8-hour shifts scheduled within our hours of operation from 5am to 8pm—meaning no late nights, so you can enjoy your evenings! This role is based in our central production kitchen in Grovedale, Geelong.Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation: Create a variety of menu items with precision, following established recipes.Ingredient Management: Accurately measure, assemble, and portion ingredients to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with food safety standards.Inventory & Stock Rotation: Maintain accurate food inventory, monitor par levels, and rotate stock to reduce waste and maximise freshness.Collaborative Teamwork: Contribute to a positive and efficient kitchen environment, collaborating with your colleagues to maintain high standards of food preparation and service.Assist Leadership: Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in supervising and training team members, guiding them to uphold kitchen standards and enhance their skills.Food Safety Standards: Adhere to all food safety regulations, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices.Workstation Maintenance: Ensure that workstations, kitchen equipment, and tools are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards throughout the day, ensuring a safe and organised environment for the team.Team Player: Work effectively within the team, fostering a collaborative and communicative workplace where everyone is encouraged to contribute and succeed.Qualifications & Experience RequiredExperience: At least 5 years in a commercial kitchen; experience in high-volume venues or catering is preferred but not essential.Certification: A current food handler’s certificate is required upon employment.Attention to Detail: High standards of food quality, presentation, and food safety.Efficiency Under Pressure: Ability to manage high-demand periods while maintaining consistent food quality and safety.Leadership Support: A willingness to assist in training new kitchen staff and support the development of the kitchen team to grow skills together and improve overall department performance.Valid Driver’s Licence: A current driver’s licence with a good driving record is required.Working Days: Availability to work Thursday through to Monday.Teamwork and Flexibility: We’re a dynamic team where everyone chips in to get the job done.
