About the Role
The Senior Environmental Officer delivers expert consultancy within a commercial setting, overseeing the planning, design, budgeting, execution, and management of environmental and civil projects for industry clients and stakeholders. The role will develop relationships with key clients and oversee the delivery of projects in the following discipline:
* Riverine & Riparian rehabilitation projects
* Marine and coastal projects
* Unsealed tracks and trails
Key accountabilities
* Provide a range of project management and support services including reports and briefs, coordinating resources, implementing and reviewing project plans and delivering projects to ensure outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to a high quality.
* Negotiating with clients technical and financial aspects of projects and deliver practical solutions that promote the Soil Conservation service as leaders in the natural resource industry.
* Take steps to implement WHS, Environmental and quality management practices to ensure projects are delivered in line with Soil Conservation Service QHSE and Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
* Prepare and review contracts and tender documentation to build a pipeline of work.
* Prepare detail technical reports and project plans following specifications and drawings prepared in house or by 3rd parties.
Essential Criteria:
* Knowledge of project management methodology and / or with an understanding of environmental principles, erosion and sediment control, and legislation
* Experience in environmental or construction project and site management with experience in the design and implementation of soil and water conservation projects

About You
To be successful, our ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree (not essential), a passion for the environment and demonstrated experience in environmental or civil construction project site management.
You'll also have a high level of computer literacy, excellent verbal and written communication skills and understanding of relevant environmental principles and legislation.
A current NSW drivers licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel across NSW (including overnight stays) is essential. Base location is currently Morpeth or Newcastle with a focus to support projects in the Manning region.
