The Role
The Hospitality Supervisor coordinates, prepares, plates, and serves nutritious meals that meet residents' individual dietary needs, ensuring smooth meal service across kitchen and dining areas. They model exceptional customer service and work closely with Kitchen Coordinators, Hospitality Assistants, Carers, and other staff to create an enjoyable dining experience for Amana Living residents. Key duties include regular food ordering, stocktaking, maintaining signing sheets, and keeping kitchens, serveries, and dining rooms clean and well maintained.
This is a permanent full-time role working 76 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday. Please note the primary workplace for Total Catering Solutions will be changed to Wangara once renovations are completed.
Key Responsibilities
* Staff Supervision and Training
o Supervise and lead a team of employees
o Provide guidance and training to staff on customer service, operational procedures, and safety protocols
o Train/induct new hospitality kitchen hands and care staff
* Customer Service
o Ensure guests receive excellent service
o Handle guest complaints or concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally
o Monitor service quality and make improvements to enhance the guest experience
* Operational Management
o Oversee daily operations including cleanliness and food and beverage service (breakfast to dinner and snacks)
o Adhere to dietary requirements (allergies, texture modifications, etc.)
o Enforce health and safety standards and maintain a clean, safe environment
* Inventory and Supplies Management
o Monitor stock levels of supplies and materials and place orders as needed
o Ensure proper storage and usage of supplies
* Financial and Budgeting Responsibilities
o Assist in budgeting and cost control to ensure efficient resource use
* Compliance and Policies
o Adhere to legal and company policies, including health and safety, alcohol service, and employee conduct
o Stay updated on industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance and quality service
o Report all incidents and hazards promptly
* Problem Solving and Decision Making
* Quality Control
o Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of the facility and dining areas
o Monitor guest satisfaction and use feedback to implement improvements
o Maintain compliance with the Food Safety program
o Prepare sites for third-party audits and council visits
o Submit monthly worksheets to Service Manager in a timely manner
* Event Coordination (If Applicable)
o Assist with organising events such as birthdays and other celebrations
o Prepare food to a high standard and level of presentation
o Stock ordering, rotation, and stocktaking
o Maintain a clean kitchen, equipment, and utensils
* Personal Development
o Attend and participate in compulsory training sessions and meetings as required by the Service Manager
Essential Criteria
* Evidence of COVID-19 and current flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
* Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6 months validity)
* Successful completion of pre-employment physical and reference checks
* NDIS Screen Check (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)
* Effective communication skills and the ability to develop understanding relationships with residents
* Certificate/Qualification in Cooking or Food Preparation
* Previous kitchen/food preparation experience (with experience in the hospitality industry)
