Ensure that appropriate processes are in place and maintained to ensure business efficiency and high levels of customer service and retention. Monitor and manage gross margin and expenses to maximise sustainable profit generation and to this end, will diligently review the Monthly Profit and Loss accounts to monitor progress and identify trends and areas requiring attention. Over and above these operational issues the role is required to take a long-term strategic approach to our franchises including actively seeking ways to grow the business either organically or through acquisition as appropriate. Ensure the achievement of market share and customer satisfaction in accordance with the franchisor’s requirements. Oversight of vehicle stock levels, ensuring ageing stock levels are kept within agreed limits. Oversight of spare parts inventories ensuring optimization of stock turn over whilst providing acceptable delivery times. Oversee the minimisation of stock obsolescence through regular monitoring. Take ultimate responsibility of PPS registration processes are in place to cover vehicles, stock and other assets which are under customers’ control or at suppliers for extended periods with your remit. Ensure you comply with all manufacturer directed educational requirements and qualifications associated with the role. LEADERSHIP Guide and support direct reports ensuring they are appropriately trained for their job function and that ongoing learning and development is available as appropriate. Drive the annual performance development review (PDR) process for direct reports in your remit, providing clear and effective performance feedback and coaching for desired behaviours. Set clear SMART goals for General Managers aligned with CMV Group organisational goals and record through Dayforce. Ensure General Managers cascade to aligned goals to departmental managers Build and maintain strong relationships with franchise representatives. Develop strong customer relationships to ensure customer retention and the fostering of repeat business. Take ultimate responsibility for the handling of escalated customer complaints in a prompt, cost-effective and pragmatic manner, ensuring appropriate files are kept and keeping the Managing Director informed on any serious cases. Ensure that any employee matters are dealt with promptly and exhaustively by General Managers in your remit and encourage engagement with the People & Culture team as appropriate, ensuring early intervention into people related matters. Ensure all General Managers are aware of and adhere to relevant legislative requirements in regard to the performance of their roles. This would include but is not limited to, WHS Legislation, the Competition and Consumer Act (including the Australian Consumer Law), Privacy Act, Fair Work Act and Tax laws for GST and Fringe Benefits Tax. COMMUNICATION Ensure accurate and timely reporting to Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd occurs in a timely manner. Keep the Managing Director informed of any pertinent matters Communicate company standards and expectations and ensure all employees represent the company in a professional and ethical manner. Regularly engage with direct reports through regular 1:1 meetings ensuring understanding and achievement of business objectives. Seek approval for any capital expenditure for the businesses in your remit. PLANNING & ORGANISING Oversee monthly P&L accounts to monitor progress and identify trends and areas requiring attention. Oversee and work with General Managers to set and achieve departmental budgets and dealership targets. HEALTH AND SAFETY Ensure all divisions in remit undertake regular WHS committee meetings and are convened with appropriate agendas and minutes of meetings. Maintain a high standard of general housekeeping throughout all dealership premises, including conduct regular inspections to all areas of the business to ensure that high standards of safety, cleanliness and appearance are upheld. Practice and promote company WHS policies and processes at all times Ensure all incidents, injuries and near misses are reported in accordance with company policy Ensure proper oversight is in place with all vehicles in the company fleet are in safe working order, registered, insured and in a presentable condition at all times. Conduct regular inspections of the business you oversee to ensure adherence to company WHS policies and processes at all times.
