About the role:
We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician who is available to start immediately in a Headspace program. The role involves conducting clinical assessments, creating care plans using evidence-based interventions, delivering intervention therapy, and working with young people and their families to develop person-centered treatment plans, while providing inclusive practice that values family and friends in a young person's life.
Mandatory Requirements:1. The minimum qualification required is an approved tertiary qualification with minimum 1-year experience in a mental health-related discipline and registration with the relevant regulatory body such as AHPRA or membership
of and adherence to professional standards, for example AASW for social workers. If you do not currently have a qualification you must be willing to undertake relevant studies. This could include Mental Health Nurse,
Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychologist, Counsellor or Aboriginal Health Practitioner etc.
2. Undertake the provision of individual client work, including intake, assessment, counselling, treatment and support
to young people and their families accessing the headspace Katherine service.
3. Experience in working with young people within a mental health or youth service setting and a clinical multidisciplinary framework and a demonstrated understanding of mental health issues affecting young people, best practice treatment options, support services and co-morbidities.
5. Prior experience or at a minimum demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and other culturally diverse young people, communities and staff.
