The Longreach office offers alcohol and drug counselling across western Queensland including outreach to Winton, Blackall and Barcaldine. Living in Central West QLD, you'll never be too far away with daily flights to and from Brisbane out of Longreach, and weekly flights to Townsville. You'll be a part of a close-knit community in Longreach, offering a relaxed and easy-going lifestyle.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a full time AOD Counsellor Case Manager to join our team based in Longreach. As a AOD Counsellor Case Manager you'll engage and support your clients in their ongoing case management, and treatment of AOD dependency and other associated factors. You'll walk beside clients and celebrate with them when they achieve their goals and help to develop their capacity and confidence to exit treatment. A key component of this role will see the AOD Counsellor Case Manager promote awareness of the program and set up new referral pathways.

This is a fixed term parental leave replacement role until July 2026. The gross salary for this role ranges between $88,109 to $105,346 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus Superannuation, Salary Packaging benefits to increase your take-home, and a huge range of discounted products via Perkbox.

What You'll Bring

You will have completed, or be actively working towards, tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, human services, occupational therapy, or another health-related discipline. A sound understanding of the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and Mental Health sectors, along with local area knowledge, is highly desirable. In addition, you will bring the following skills and experience:

* Excellent relationship and rapport building – this role includes networking with local providers and attending meetings and events
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; self-managing and able to prioritise your own workload
* A proactive team player - but as there is some travel involved (up to two days per week) - you will also be comfortable with autonomy and spending time on your own
* An understanding of evidence-based clinical frameworks
* A sound understanding of the professional, ethical, and legislative frameworks, including understanding and setting boundaries

You will also hold a current Australian Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be eligible to obtain.
