Accountant – Silverberg Investments Pty Ltd
Silverberg Investments Pty Ltd is a sister company of AXR Group.
This position is based in North Geelong, with the flexibility to work remotely within the Geelong area.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Director and will be responsible for a broad range of financial, reporting, compliance and analysis functions that support the economic health and operational performance of the business.

Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and supporting documentation.
Financial Reporting: Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and other periodic financial reports to provide insights into company performance.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts by analysing historical data, trends and recommending improvements.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage all AP/AR functions including invoicing, payment processing, reconciliations and ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and lodge tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state and federal tax regulations.
Stay updated on taxation changes to minimise risk and liabilities.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, risks and improvement opportunities.
Provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal financial controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audit processes, including documentation preparation and responding to auditor queries.
Financial Software & Systems: Use accounting software and financial tools to streamline processes, enhance accuracy and support efficient financial management.
Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects including process improvement initiatives, system implementations, or targeted financial analyses.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA certification preferred
Minimum 3 years experience in an accounting or similar financial role
Experience in the financial services sector will be highly regarded
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent understanding of Australian accounting principles and regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Well-developed organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
