Help at Hand Support Services is looking for experienced Disability Support Workers who would like to join us and help make a difference to the lives of people with a disability.
Responsibilities
You will be providing a person-centred approach and your daily routine will depend on the person you are supporting. Each day may involve taking a client out for a beach day, a movie, a game, attending medical appointments, or staying at home with a cup of tea.
Qualifications
* Own fully insured and reliable vehicle
* High Care experience (desirable)
* Mental health experience
* Behaviour concerns
* Trauma‐informed care experience (desirable)
* International police check (if applicable) or current police check within 6 months
* Certificate III in Disability or equivalent experience
* Current Working with Children check
* First aid/CPR certificates (current)
* Full and clean Australian driver's license
* Be punctual, reliable, adaptable
* Positive written and verbal communication skills
* Empathetic and proactive with a genuine interest to work in this field
* Ability to self‐supervise and remain calm and composed at times of crisis
* Right to live and work in Australia
