What position do we have available?
As the Assistant Product Manager – Filler Metals, you'll be the subject matter expert across the entire product lifecycle – from identifying emerging opportunities and understanding customer needs to supporting the successful commercialisation of new and improved filler metal solutions.
Working closely with our sales, technical, and marketing teams, you'll transform field insights into actionable strategies that enhance our product range, strengthen our market position, and deliver real value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for filler metals across the business.
* Support the full product lifecycle, from concept and development through to launch and post-market performance.
* Capture and validate market and customer insights to guide product and portfolio decisions.
* Collaborate with product development and sales teams to bring innovative products to market.
* Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with corporate objectives and revenue goals.
* Provide technical support, training, and product knowledge to internal teams, distributors, and customers.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth.
* Analyse product performance, pricing, and market insights.
* Direct coordination with global OEM partners and ITW Welding business units.
* Exposure to global product roadmaps and product management frameworks.
* Opportunity to translate ANZ market needs into global product decisions.

Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy or Engineering, or related trade qualifications – International Welding Specialist (IWS) or Technologist (IWT).
* Strong welding process knowledge (MMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW) and applications.
* Experience in welding or metal fabrication, ideally with filler metals or related consumables.
* Proven ability to manage projects and work cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, and sales teams.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* A proactive approach and passion for continuous improvement.
