We are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Senior Tax Accountant to join their highly motivated and talented team in BALLARAT, in a permanent full-time capacity. The position may also result in the potential to become a Partner of the firm.

About The Role
The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of their clients and includes, but is not limited to:
* Leading a small team to achieve Company driven goals and directives
* Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail and property
* Assistance with and responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
* Assistance with the preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
* Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and Payroll tax returns
The ideal candidate will have
* At least 5 years prior experience in Accounting with a strong academic track record
* Exceptional communication skills and leadership qualities to motivate and engage a small team
* Strong understanding of Australian tax law and accounting concepts
* Strong understanding of fundamental business concepts
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
* A high focus on providing excellent client service
* Excellent time management and attention to detail
* A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
* Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to tax issues
* A strong work ethic and initiative
* Commitment to further training and professional development
What we'd love from you
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in an Accounting practice
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
* Ability to identify how to maximise returns for clients and be able to understand deductibility of certain items
* Strong proficiency in accounting and tax software (MYOB, Xero and Intuit QuickBooks will be highly regarded)
