We require a qualified, motivated and focused
Principal Civil Engineer
to join our
Bunbury or Perth Team . Drive technical excellence and resource management for a diverse mix of civil projects from our Perth or Bunbury hubs. You will lead design across an exciting pipeline, including industrial, commercial and residential builds, mine structures, bridges, drainage, and coastal structures.
Qualifications & Expertise
Academic Foundation: Bachelor of Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalent expertise, knowledge and experience.
Industry Tenure: Minimum of 15 years of post‑graduate engineering experience.
Full working rights in Australia are required.
Business Development & Leadership
Client Engagement: Proven success in building strong networks and high‑value client relationships.
Tender Management: Demonstrated ability to deliver competitive pricing and winning project bids.
Team Leadership: Strong track record in establishing and guiding high‑performing design teams.
Civil Design & Build: Comprehensive technical skill in civil, road, and drainage design and construction.
Project Lifecycle: Expert management of complex road, drainage, water supply, sewerage, and coastal works.
Contract Administration: Confident delivery of superintendence and contract administration from inception to handover.
Safety & Quality Compliance
Safety Culture: Thorough working knowledge of the Western Australian Work Health and Safety Act and regulations.
Quality Assurance: Commitment to maintaining rigorous Quality Management standards across all projects.

Responsibilities
Create high‑quality designs for civil, road, and drainage projects that strictly align with Australian and WA standards.
Dive into research and professional development to master advanced skills in geometric design, drainage, traffic analysis, and pavements.
Champion creative and innovative engineering design solutions wherever practicable.
Produce high‑quality engineering reports and comprehensive contract documents.
Consult with approving authorities and agencies to ensure absolute compliance.
Maintain peak standards by conducting rigorous design checks on your own work and your team’s projects.
Drive client success through clear, consistent, and proactive project communication.
Direct Civil Group resources to hit tight schedules, protect budgets, and maximise performance.
Establish, lead, and inspire high‑performing project teams.
Execute projects seamlessly using the WML Quality Management System or specific client frameworks.
Direct drafting staff and review their outputs for flawless compliance.
Support the growth of junior engineering staff through dedicated mentorship and career development guidance.
Scope, price, design, deliver, and review assigned civil projects from start to finish.
Actively contribute to evolving and sharpening the company's internal project management systems.
Prepare high‑quality contract documentation and successfully lead the tendering process.
Manage contracts and contractors on‑site to ensure strict adherence to scope, budget, time, and quality.
Evaluate and report on contract and contractor performance to maintain project integrity.
Confidently manage progress payments, contract claims, and variations.
Help develop, maintain, and improve the company's contract management frameworks.
