Are you a Senior Accountant looking for change and growth?
Our client is a family-owned firm with over 30 years of experience helping small businesses and individuals thrive through tailored financial and taxation services. They are seeking a Senior Accountant who is keen to build a long-term career within a supportive, award-winning, and growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and review financial statements, letters, correspondence, reports and other documents ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines
* Perform account reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing activities
* Prepare tax returns and assist with tax planning and compliance
* Prepare and lodge BAS (Business Activity Statements) and IAS (Instalment Activity Statements)
* Liaise with the ATO regarding client-related matters
* Coordinate audit preparations and respond to audit queries
* Build strong relationships with clients and act as a proactive advisor on financial performance, tax obligations and business strategy
* Assist with forecasting, budgeting and financial planning initiatives
* Support and mentor junior and graduate accountants within the firm
What You Will Need
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting
* Min 4 to 5 years professional experience, ideally including small business tax, compliance and advisory
* CA, CPA, or IPA certification, or actively working towards completion
* Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Xero, HandiTax, Access Tax) and advanced Excel skills
* Robust knowledge of current and relevant Australian tax legislation
