Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) operates custodial facilities (correctional centres) and provides community-based supervision across metro and regional NSW. Security and Intelligence is a branch of CSNSW which provides several support services to CSNSW, including a high security transport service for the movement of inmates between correctional centres and the courts and supervision of inmates whilst at court.

**About the role**:
- Supervise inmates in the court or cell complex or during transportation.
- De-escalate conflict situations e.g. inmates under stress or affected by drugs.
- Undertake security checks & inmates searches.
- Undertake custody related administration.
- Work collaboratively in a team.
- Respond to emergency type situations including safely handling a firearm.
We have casual and full-time roles available so you can choose the type of role that suits your lifestyle. Shifts are Monday to Friday (Court only) and Monday to Sunday (Cell and Transport). If you choose to take on a casual role you should expect to be on-call and offered shifts the afternoon/evening before the shift, which you can either accept or decline depending on your circumstances, part-time and fullt time roles will be on a cyclical roster system. Most shifts are for between 3 - 6 hours (courts only) or 8 hours (holding cells and transport). Please note you will be required to work under a full-time temporary contract for the first 10 weeks to complete the primary training program. The primary training is facillitated in Sydney and Regional areas. The specific training location will be confirmed at the time of offer and accommodation can be provided to new officers where travel daily to the training centre is not possible.
Note: This role is **not **based in a Correctional Centre.

**Requirements of the role**:
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Current driver's license (with no restrictions)
- Australia or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Willing to work an average of 2 to 3 days per week (casual and part-time).
- Willing to work irregular shift patterns from 3-6 hours a shift Monday to Friday (Court only) and 8 hours a shift Monday to Sunday (Cell or Transport).
- Available to work with short notice i.e. on call contact is after 5 pm the day before (casual only).
- Willing to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practise.
- Meet the medical standards to be a correctional officer and have reasonable level of fitness.
- No visible inappropriate or offensive tattoos - Please refer to the dress manual for further information on what is deemed prohibited.
**A**d**ditional Eligibility Criteria for Transport Roles**
- Willing to obtain a Medium Rigid License within 3 months of commencing the role (Transport and some regional court locations only)
- **Please note for court and cell locations there is mínimal car parking available and you may need to pay for parking nearby or use public transport.**
