NDIS Support Worker Job Description
The NDIS Support Worker provides high-quality support to individuals with identified goals as per the NDIS plan. The role involves breaking down complex objectives into achievable steps, mentoring participants through challenges, and improving their formal and informal networks.
Job Responsibilities:
* Deliver individualized, goal-oriented care and support to meet participant needs
* Develop and implement service plans that cater to participant requirements
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
* Maintain accurate documentation and records of participant interactions
* Participate in corporate and community events to promote organizational values
* Perform other tasks as requested by the manager to achieve team goals
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 6 months' experience in NDIS services or a related field
* Cert III in Mental Health, Disability Service, Community Services, with a view to working towards a Cert IV or willingness to register for your Cert III
* Seizure management training to ensure safe participant care
* Demonstrated ability to provide individualized care and support tailored to participant needs
* Understanding of personal and emotional recovery principles and capacity building strategies
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
* High-level written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with participants and stakeholders
* First Aid Certificate to provide emergency assistance when needed
Desirable Qualifications:
* Cert IV in Mental Health, Disability Services, Community Services or Equivalent to enhance participant care capabilities
* Understanding of contemporary NDIS support provisions to stay up-to-date with industry developments
* Proficiency in basic IT applications to efficiently manage participant data and records
