About Us
RFI is a proudly Australian company with over 45 years' experience servicing solar and wireless communications markets. RFI is a global technology solutions company, specialising in wireless coverage and solar power. We develop, manufacture, and distribute world‐class, high‐performance wireless products including antenna systems, rebroadcast and monitoring equipment, power systems and cabling and connectors.
About the Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced RF Engineer to join our engineering team at our Allenby Gardens office. You will lead the architectural design, simulation and development of high‐performance RF communication products, focusing on RF systems from 10 MHz to 1 GHz.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead RF system architecture design for complex signal chains including transceivers, frequency converters and high‐performance filtering.
* Perform advanced linear and non‐linear simulations using tools like Advanced Design System (ADS) for entire RF lineups.
* Drive RF PCB layout best practices, including impedance matching, signal integrity and shielding strategies.
* Design for global regulatory compliance, meeting stringent requirements for IMD, sensitivity and spectral purity.
* Manage end‐to‐end product development from concept and schematic capture through prototype verification, SMT manufacturing and production release.
* Fault‐find and bring‐up SMT PCB assemblies to component level, incorporating mechanical design considerations for housings, heat‐sinking and screening.
* Act as technical mentor, providing RF troubleshooting guidance and verification methodologies to the broader engineering team.
* Utilise RF test equipment including signal generators, spectrum analysers, VNAs, power meters, power supplies and environmental chambers.
About You
Will bring deep expertise in RF design for manufacturing environments, with hands‐on experience across active devices (GaN/LDMOS/GaAs), mixers, synthesizers, microstrip and stripline technologies.
You Will
* Hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
* Have 10+ years' hands‐on RF design and system integration experience.
* Demonstrate proven expertise with ADS or equivalent high‐end RF simulation tools.
* Understand mechanical aspects of RF design and experience in design‐for‐manufacturing.
* Be proficient with RF test equipment and component‐level fault‐finding.
* Excel as a technical leader and collaborator across engineering disciplines.
If you have the skills and experience for this role and want to join a dynamic business going through significant growth, then we want to hear from you.
