About the role DroneShield (ASX: DRO) is seeking a Head of Tax to lead and own the global tax function. This is a senior role responsible for tax strategy, governance, risk management and advisory support across the group, with a strong focus on complex cross-border matters including Australia/US dual residency considerations and international expansion. This position will also play a key role in supporting potential future M&A activity, group structuring and integration planning. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Lead DroneShield’s global tax function including strategy, governance, compliance oversight and risk management Provide executive-level tax advice to the CFO and senior leadership, including Board and Audit & Risk Committee support as required Manage tax matters arising from the group’s complex cross-border structure, including dual residency and related tax risks Oversee key international tax issues including hybrid mismatch rules, transfer pricing, loss utilisation restrictions, and cross-border structuring Support global expansion, including advice on entity structuring, transfer pricing, and PE risk Oversee tax provisioning, deferred tax calculations and tax disclosures for statutory and financial reporting purposes Maintain strong charters, governance frameworks and position documentation to ensure audit readiness for key tax positions Lead engagement with external auditors, advisors, and tax authorities (ATO, IRS and others as required) Lead and develop the internal tax team, ensuring effective delivery of day-to-day tax compliance and reporting Provide tax leadership on potential M&A activity including due diligence support, structuring advice and post-acquisition integration Qualifications, Experience and Skills 10 years’ experience in corporate and international tax Strong knowledge of Australian tax and demonstrated exposure to US and international tax matters Proven experience managing transfer pricing and multi-jurisdiction tax risk Experience supporting international expansion and related tax risks Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate complex issues clearly Confident operating in a fast-paced, high-growth listed environment Comfortable working at executive level while remaining technically hands-on when required Note for recruitment agencies: We do not accept unsolicited candidates from external recruiters unless specifically instructed.
