Job Overview:
The Referee Development Specialist will play a key role in developing, managing, and administering referees across all competitions. This includes recruiting, training, and retaining referees, as well as preparing and distributing weekly referee rosters to ensure fair allocations and skill matching.
Key Responsibilities:
* Referee Management & Rostering:
o Recruit and retain referees for all association competitions.
o Prepare and distribute weekly referee rosters ensuring fair allocations and skill matching.
o Manage referee attendance, replacements, and availability in a timely manner.
o Ensure referees are punctual, presentable, and uphold the association's standards.
* Training & Development:
o Deliver referee education workshops and on-court coaching sessions.
o Provide feedback, mentoring, and performance evaluations to referees.
o Support referees to progress through accreditation pathways.
o Develop initiatives to encourage retention, particularly youth referees.
* Game Day Duties:
o Act as primary contact for referees during competitions.
o Support referees before, during, and after games resolving disputes and addressing issues.
o Promote a positive culture towards referees.
* Administration:
o Manage referee payroll records and ensure payments are processed accurately.
o Maintain up-to-date records of referee accreditations and development.
o Provide reports and updates to management as required.
o Contribute to policies and procedures relating to referees.
* Relationship Management:
o Build strong relationships with referees, parents, coaches, and officials.
o Promote respect for referees through education and codes of conduct.
o Act as liaison between referees, the association, and referee bodies.
