Procurement and Contract Management SpecialistContract Type: Contract / TempLocation: Canberra - Australian Capital TerritoryGovernment / Local GovernmentContact Name: Contact Phone: 0403 200 666Date Published: 03-Jun-2025Procurement and Contract Management SpecialistOur client is looking for a Procurement and Contract Management Specialist to assist with the day-to-day procurement and contract management processes in accordance with departmental and whole of government procurement policies, supporting the Procurement & Contracts Team within the department.Duties:Monitoring and managing procurement activities, including providing advice and support for basic to complex procurement.Assist in the preparation of procurement approval documentation, including Approvals to Approach the Market, Evaluation Outcomes, Approvals to commit funds, and entering Arrangements.Administer tender documentation with strong knowledge.Provide high-level customer service to internal clients and stakeholders, engaging agency representatives proactively and seeking feedback.Manage a range of contracts, maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers.Monitor contracts, manage extensions or renewals, and oversee contract close-out.Resolve contract-related issues through problem-solving.Prepare and manage government contracts, both simple and complex.Prepare and manage Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).Provide policy advice on compliance with Australian Government legislation, rules, and policies related to contract management and procurement activities.Develop, draft, and implement communication strategies to support organizational changes.Conduct risk assessments and manage issues.Support the Line Manager by identifying opportunities to improve procurement outcomes, efficiency, and value for money.Skills and Experience:Experience working within Government Procurement.Understanding of the PGPA Act for complex procurements.Oversight experience of public sector procurement activities.Ability to analyze suppliers, markets, products, and service categories for procurement planning.Advice on 'best fit' security procurement approaches.Assist in administering tender evaluation reports.Oversee contract administration activities and monitor management plans.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Additional Details:Proposed start date: July 2025Proposed end date: June 2026Options to extend: 12 monthsHow to Apply:Apply directly or contact Kalpana Palaniyappa at 0403 200 666 or email kalpana.palaniyappa@calleo.com.au for more information.
