About The Role
Mercy Community is seeking a passionate DVP Practitioner to join our Family and Child Connect team. This is a full-time position based in Toowoomba. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering quality services to children, young people, families, and the community within the Family and Child Connect service, supporting vulnerable families to access the right services at the right time.

Key Responsibilities
1. Provide specialist domestic and family violence advice and oversight across the FaCC team during all phases of family work, from referral to closure, using endorsed, evidence-based frameworks aligned with Child Safety requirements, including the Safe & Together framework.
2. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning within a DFV and Child Protection framework, in consultation with relevant staff.
3. Support FaCC staff to actively intervene with perpetrators and victims (including children) of domestic violence.
4. Engage with individuals, families, service providers, and community contacts via in-person and telephone interactions, providing information, advice, referrals, and linkages to relevant services based on assessed needs.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
* At least two years of experience working with families impacted by domestic and family violence, including skills in risk assessments, trauma-informed practice, safety planning, and system advocacy.
* Good understanding of the Queensland Child Protection system.
* Experience with evidence-based practice frameworks for families impacted by domestic and family violence, and familiarity with the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012.
* An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and issues, with a commitment to culturally appropriate engagement.
* Intermediate proficiency with computer systems, including MS Office.
* A Queensland Provisional Green Driver's License or higher.
* Current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain before starting.
* Knowledge of and experience with the Safe and Together Model is desirable.
