Role and Terms
This is for a Fixed Term Part Time appointment at up to 76 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Public Health team at Geraldton Hospital in the Midwest.
To be successful, you will have...
* Experience in disease control including understanding of public health issues and coordination of disease control programs.
* Effective verbal and written skills, especially advocacy and negotiation skills.
* The ability to function independently and as part of a team.
* Experience working in rural communities, particularly with Aboriginal people, and an understanding of Aboriginal culture.
* Demonstrated computer literacy and an ability to utilise health information management systems, including data analysis and interpretation.
* Current WA immunisation certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence or other specialised licence class.
Position Profile
Plans, implements and evaluates public health programs and manages disease control programs at a regional level in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager Public Health and Consultant Public Health Medicine. Acts as a resource for other health professionals in detection and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
