We are seeking an experienced Naval Architect to join our Maritime team working on the Hobart Class.
This role will involve managing a portfolio of changes for hull and propeller hydrodynamics, power and resistance prediction, weight monitoring, stability analysis, manoeuvring and seakeeping analysis, docking and undocking calculations.
About the Role
You will be responsible for providing technical and project management leadership and oversight within your sub-domain. This includes developing a thorough understanding of both ship and shore systems within your sub-domain, designing and developing solutions, resolving engineering issues and problems for a range of situations relating to specialist knowledge area(s).
You will also contribute to the project controls (schedule and budget development and tracking) and project management of Engineering Change activities within your sub-domain.
As part of this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders to deliver projects that meet the required standards.

Requirements
* Naval Architecture, Structural Architecture or Marine Engineering degree qualified
* Demonstrated experience working as a naval architect with experience managing projects and people
* Demonstrated experience undertaking the design review and oversight activities throughout the engineering process
* The ability to communicate and operate effectively within a dynamic, challenging environment with conflicting prioritise and managing multiple stakeholders
* The ability to be proactive and manage multiple projects at any given time
* A passion in maritime and a keen interest in developing vessels for defence
