A leading global fund administration business is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its growing Australian tax team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad, technical role with a defined pathway to Tax Manager.
The Role
Sitting within a specialist tax function that supports alternative fund clients across the country, this position has been created to support the leadership of a high‐performing team through a period of significant growth. The role is predominantly hands‐on at this stage, with the balance expected to shift progressively toward review and oversight as the team scales. The right candidate will bring deep fund tax expertise, a proactive mindset and a commitment to client service excellence.
Responsibilities
* Preparation of tax compliance work across a portfolio of alternative fund clients, including distribution calculations, tax provisions, franking credit calculations, income tax returns, investor statements, AIIR and BAS returns
* Supporting the review and oversight of end‐to‐end client deliverables
* Managing client relationships independently, with a focus on quality and responsiveness
* Acting as a subject matter expert across designated technical areas
* Assisting with the development of tax policies and procedures
* Identifying and driving process improvement and automation initiatives
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Accounting, Business or a related discipline
* CA or CPA qualified
* 5 to 7 years of relevant tax experience, with a background in fund or corporate tax within a Top 10 accounting firm, strongly preferred
* Solid understanding of Australian fund and corporate tax compliance, including ATO reporting obligations
* Demonstrated people management experience
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Exposure to New Zealand tax is advantageous
