Family Assistant (House Manager/Nanny) We are looking for a warm, experienced, and reliable Family Assistant (House Manager/Nanny) to support a busy, family of six in Melbourne. The family consists of two professional parents and four children (aged 18, 16, and 5yr old twins). With dad preparing to work overseas, they are seeking a dedicated individual to provide additional support to the mother and children to help manage the household. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, providing assistance with household management, childcare, cooking, and meal prep. Experience with managing food allergies will be a strong advantage. As the family already employs part-time staff, being a team player is essential. There is an additional housekeeper to do the deeper clean, however light household duties will be required. This position offers variety, and we are looking for someone with a flexible, can-do attitude who enjoys taking initiative and working in a dynamic, family-oriented environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Household Management and running errands ie. Post Office, dry cleaners, groceries, dog groomers Managing 5yo twins’ calendar and school expectations and liaising with parents accordingly. Support the cleaner with light household duties such as laundry, ironing, tidying bedrooms, and keeping the kitchen and shared areas clean and well organised. Oversee inventory of household supplies and ensure restocking as needed. Liaising with tradesmen, deliveries, and overseeing the home runs smoothly re repairs Coordination of other household staff and scheduling Pet care (small Cavoodle) Assist with school pickups and homework, and after-school activities when needed. Meal preparation for the children and family (dietary preferences apply). Creating a household manual and ongoing household administration in collaboration with the family. Occasional weekend or evening support as needed (by prior agreement). Requirements: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (vehicle provided for work use) First Aid / CPR preferred WWCC and Police Check Confident in the kitchen and able to accommodate varied dietary needs (pescatarian, gluten-free, nut and egg allergies) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working with children and around older teens Able to work both autonomously and collaboratively with the family and additional part-time household staff Strong organisational and multitasking skills Someone who genuinely enjoys helping, takes initiative, and embraces the varied nature of family life Full working rights in Australia Excellent contactable references Job Conditions: Excellent salary plus superannuation, annual leave, sick leave etc. Full-time position - ideally 12pm–8pm Monday to Friday, with flexibility available for the right candidate Vehicle provided for work purposes
