Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border.
This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW.
In this role you will operate within a diverse and multidisciplinary engineering team, co-ordinating the delivery of substation works on this major energy infrastructure project. Together with supporting construction activity, you will be aware of managing costs and ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely completion of your scope of works.
Primary Accountabilities:
* Proficient in Australian standards and being capable of providing electrical design solutions and documentation to support Elecnor Australia’s projects within the power generation and distribution sector.
* Value engineering and optimisation to achieve efficiencies in cost and program.
* Development of electrical documentation such as specifications, schematics, investigations, assessments, test procedures and engineering reports.
* Preparing calculations and analysis as requested by the lead engineer.
* Liaison with the construction team to develop construction methodology and provide construction input into the design process.
* Working closely with the external designers to ensure specification compliance and technical integrity of design.
* Reviewing of client specifications to ensure design quality assurance criteria is met.
* Experience with Microsoft Office 365 + Adobe Pro.
* Knowledge of HV switch gear to 330kV.
* Ensure all activities are undertaken in a safe manner and compliant with our safety requirements, as well as site and project specific requirements.
* Ability to self-manage time and activities.
* An ability to work effectively within a team as well as autonomously.
* Experience with project management of multi disciplined teams.
