Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border.
This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW.
In this role, you will be working within a diverse and multidisciplinary engineering team where you will co-ordinate the design & delivery of substation works on this major energy infrastructure project.
Primary Accountabilities:
* Provide electrical design solutions and documentation for power generation/distribution projects.
* Develop specifications, schematics, test procedures, and comprehensive engineering reports.
* Prepare key calculations and analysis alongside the Lead Engineer.
* Drive value engineering and optimization to achieve cost and program efficiencies.
* Review client specifications to ensure all design Quality Assurance criteria are met.
* Liaise with construction teams to provide design input and develop methodologies.
* Collaborate with external designers to ensure specification compliance and technical integrity.
* Lead and project manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
* Ensure all activities strictly comply with site, project, and overarching safety requirements.
Skills & Experience:
* 3-5 years' experience in a similar role on high voltage distribution systems including control systems
* Solid knowledge and experience in construction, commissioning of HV/LV substation apparatus
* Previous experience working in a EPCM environment and FIFO DIDO roles.
* Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication skills, establishing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working in a team.
