About the Role
As a Registered Nurse within our transit lounge you will facilitate the discharge of patients from the ward to home, ensuring all required paperwork, medications and transport are well coordinated. The role is essential in ensuring flow through the organisation, ensuring ward beds are available for incoming patients. The Transit Lounge facilitates discharge and patient flow from the inpatient areas and Emergency Department. This service applies only to non-emergency patient transfers and discharges for patients in a stable condition. Patients who arrive by ambulance for appointments at Outpatient Services will also be managed through the Transit Lounge on arrival and return. Your stay in the Transit Lounge is expected to be short term and patients may access light snacks, beverages and meals at mealtimes during their wait.

- Current AHPRA nursing registration
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Proven clinical experience in an acute setting
- Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
