Engineering/Capital Works Project Manager & Project Manager Project Lifecycle

With a growing pipeline of infrastructure, community, and corporate projects, the City is strengthening its Project Management Office (PMO) to support best‑practice delivery, governance, and capability uplift.

Your new role
We are seeking two experienced Project Managers to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects and contribute to the ongoing uplift of the City's enterprise Project Management Framework.
Both roles will take handover of active projects and support delivery across the full project management lifecycle. You will work closely with a multi‑disciplinary team to enhance PMO tools, templates, reporting, and governance, while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
You'll also play a key role in delivering regular project and portfolio reporting to Management, Elected Members, and the community, while promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Role 1: Project Manager - Engineering / Capital Works Focus
This role is suited to a Project Manager with strong experience delivering civil, building, and infrastructure projects. You'll manage capital works initiatives with a focus on engineering outcomes, construction delivery, contractor management, and technical risk. You'll also provide specialist input into capital project frameworks and support PMO practices aligned to infrastructure delivery.
Role 2: Project Manager - Project Lifecycle / Enterprise Focus
This role focuses on end‑to‑end project lifecycle management and enterprise uplift. You'll manage a range of projects including community, corporate, and capital initiatives such as the Pickering Brook Fire Station, Ray Owen Sports Centre, and other enterprise programs. A strong emphasis is placed on governance, consistency, organisational change, and driving enterprise‑wide adoption of project management practices.
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated experience delivering projects through the full project lifecycle
Strong project governance, documentation, and reporting capability
The ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multiple departments
Experience contributing to or working within a PMO or structured project environment
A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
For the Engineering / Capital Works role, you will also have:
Experience managing civil, building, or infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of construction delivery, contractor management, and engineering risks
For the Enterprise / Lifecycle role, you will also have:
Experience delivering corporate, community, or enterprise projects
Capability in organisational change, consistency uplift, and lifecycle standardisation
