About the Role
Provide engineering support to the project delivery teams by carrying out processes and tasks as assigned by the associated project lead or project manager.
The Control Systems engineer will be involved in technical delivery of projects, including design (software & hardware), development, commissioning and verification & validation activities as directed by the project manager and/or lead engineer.
Candidates must be willing to travel interstate for job specific deliverables during commissioning.
Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of tenders and quotation responses
Work with Business Development Managers as directed to identify and evaluate new opportunities within existing and new markets
Communicate identified potential opportunities to sales managers
Project Delivery
Assist with the development of project delivery methodologies
Interface with clients as needed, within your level of competency and training.
Defer responses to senior engineers as appropriate
Share technical knowledge with project delivery teams to promote technically correct and accurate solutions within customer requirements
Share experiences to improve operational effectiveness of delivery teams
Maintain awareness of project and task budgets to ensure project scope is met within allocated financial and schedule constraints
Conduct PLC, SCADA and HMI Development utilising multiple automation platforms
Assist in configuration of networks, servers and workstation solutions to meet the needs of our projects
Perform FAT, SAT and commissioning activities on site
Perform tasks as directed by the assigned project manager or the delegated lead engineer
Technical Assistance
Provide engineering advice and support to assist in solving technical issues
Work with assigned project teams to develop engineering solutions to address customers' needs and challenges.
Provide on-call support via call-out roster to SLA customers
Travel to customer sites, as required, to discuss project opportunities, carry out site investigations & audits, and find appropriate cost-effective solutions under the guidance of lead engineers and project managers

Key Relationships
Internal:
Build working relationships with Service Delivery site staff through system assessments, implementation of improvement actions and ongoing support
Engage with fellow engineering colleagues to further develop technical skillset
External:
Build working relationships with our client base to enable successful completion of projects within predetermined constraints.
Respond to customer requests in consultation with senior/lead engineers, project managers and Operations Manager.
Assist our client base by understanding their business needs and drivers
Decision Making Authority
Independent: Provide technical support and advice in relation project delivery and emerging technologies within their range of qualification and experience.
With Input: Consult with senior engineers or Operations Manager for input as and when required.
Essential Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronics or a related discipline or related trade background
Australian Driver's License and Vehicle
Must have the right to work in Australia
Experience in designing, developing and diagnosing PLC, RTU, HMI, SCADA and network systems
Ability to interpret control system design documentation
Self-Starter, committed to providing great customer service
Ability to manage competing tasks and priorities
Sound verbal and written communication
Systematic approach to problem solving
Physical Requirements of the Role
Office based tasks, site work including audits, service, installation and commissioning, travel by car.
