Job Overview:
As a senior structural engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects within our organization. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating engineering discipline deliverables to meet client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed proposals and budgets for project execution, monitoring progress, and reporting any discrepancies.
* Ensure that all engineering deliverables are completed according to industry standards, thoroughly checked, approved, and issued to relevant stakeholders with proper revision control documentation.
* Coordinate project team activities to achieve time and budget objectives, while maintaining open communication with stakeholders.
* Develop and review technical documents related to business line technologies, and generate specifications, design criteria, scope of work, and material take-off as required.
* Deliver high-quality tasks under minimal supervision, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and time objectives.
* Maintain regular communication with the Engineering Manager regarding technical activities, staffing, budgets, schedules, and the reasons behind actions taken.
* Contribute to the growth and development of the Engineering Group by implementing best practice technical solutions and sharing knowledge of industry developments.
* Build strong relationships with clients through effective communication, identifying their needs, and evaluating alternative solutions.
About You:
* A Bachelor's degree in applied science or engineering is essential, along with 10+ years of proven project management experience in an engineering consulting firm or similar large organization.
* Strong background in engineering technology, with demonstrated expertise in the technical focus area, is highly desirable.
* Proven ability to identify schedule/budget warning signs early and take corrective action.
* Experience in the design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects would be beneficial.
* Demonstrated knowledge of engineering ISO, AS, ANSI, API etc. standard design codes is a must.
* Ability to lead small teams, train staff in new processes, and develop skills in supervisory capacity is expected.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for success in this role.
