With 75 staff across multiple locations, the firm delivers accounting, tax, financial planning, SMSF, audit and business advisory services to a diverse client base. Their Townsville office is continuing to grow and is now seeking a People & Payroll Coordinator to join the team. The Role: End-to-end payroll processing across the business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery Maintain and update employee records within HRIS and payroll systems, including Xero Payroll Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, awards, and HR requirements Support broader HR and People & Culture functions including onboarding, reporting, and administration Assist with process improvements and system efficiencies across payroll and HR Act as a key point of contact for payroll and HR queries across the business Maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail About You: 3–5 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing Experience using HRIS systems and Xero Payroll Certificate or Diploma in Payroll, HR, or Business Administration Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, and HR processes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Highly organised with strong time management skills Analytical and solutions-focused with a continuous improvement mindset Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented What’s On Offer: Opportunity to take ownership of payroll within a respected professional services firm Supportive and collaborative team culture Stable, long-established business with a strong regional presence Career development opportunities within a growing Townsville office Exposure to both payroll and broader People & Culture functions Work within a multi-disciplinary firm spanning accounting, advisory, and financial services If you’re looking for a role where you can own payroll while expanding your exposure across People & Culture, we’d love to hear from you.
