About the Role
ALS Water Division operates a modern commercial laboratory in Scoresby that's equipped with the latest technologies. We have a 12‐Month, Fixed‐Term Laboratory Technician role available supporting the Microbiology Team. This role is fast-paced and requires you to work at speed with accuracy. Experience in a Commercial NATA accredited Microbiology Laboratory and water‐quality testing would be advantageous.
The day to day
The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following:
* Preparation and samples analysis in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions
* Interpretation and result entry into LIMS system
* Completing task accurately, within set timeframes and to the relevant analysis standard
* Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour to the Team Leader
* Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiency
* Contribution to a clean, tidy and organised Laboratory
The Essentials
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
* Ideally, experience in a Commercial Microbiology Laboratory
* Relevant experience – Degree qualification
* Excellent organisational skills
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Team orientated with ability to work autonomously
* Strong focus on quality and safety standards
* Attention to detail
