About The Role
As a Communications Engineer within the EWIS-L SPO you will provide engineering and technical support EWIS-L SPO outcomes.
The current ADF capability for Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (CIED) has been developed to address threats arising from operations through Joint Projects, Rapid Acquisitions, and Operational Support. The capability includes Force Protection Electronic Countermeasures (FPECM), Neutralisation and Exploitation (N&E), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots, systems and facilities in support of CIED training, a CMD&V capability and a Deliberate Route Clearance capability.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the configuration management of Countermeasures Development and Validation (CMD&V) support equipment, and any identified remediation activities.
* Manage the Material Certification of the individual components of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) benches sustained by EWIS-L SPO.
* Manage the licences and software IAW APM for in-service/baselined sustained equipment.
* Conduct Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) of all equipment, ensure all identified and managed correctly for external stakeholders.
* Drafting Safety Case Reports (SCR) for managing CMD&V support equipment.
* Re-write relevant TD and MSI to support CMD&V support equipment.
* Support the catalogue, codification and calibration of CMD&V support equipment.
* Provide engineering support to additional tasking from the EWIS-L Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager.
Essential Requirements
* Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Electrical, Electronics, Communications, or Telecommunications), eligible for Engineers Australia Membership, or recognised equivalent; and,
* Sufficient experience in the relevant area of practice to be eligible for Chartered status with Engineers Australia.
* Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience working within a Land Materiel Safety Framework.
* Experience with FPECM, CIED systems, and other EW systems.
* Knowledge and use of Spectrum analysers and other RF test equipment.
* Laboratory and/or Field based testing of designs.
* Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant technical field.
* Chartered Professional Engineering status.
* Experience with advanced communications networks.
