About the opportunity
The Senior Project Manager works within Central Operations Services (COS), the service oriented PSU that is responsible for leading and launching operational service strategies which enable high-quality teaching and research outcomes across the University. COS partners with Faculties, Schools and other PSU's to enable service delivery strategies.
The Senior Project Manager will manage the implementation of large and/or strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring effective planning, resource utilisation, and stakeholder collaboration. They establish plans, develop and implement strategies, and optimise project governance and reporting. They also develop and manage project financials to meet objectives within budget constraints.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* establish and manage project plans for large and/or strategic projects and initiatives, including project structure, governance, and key performance indicators
* develop and communicate the project charter, ensuring clarity and common understanding of project objectives and deliverables
* implement project management methodology for consistent and efficient project management across multiple work streams
* oversee resource utilisation and deployment for project implementation
* provide project management leadership, guidance, and accurate definition of project phases, milestones and objectives
* develop and implement project plans, ensuring accurate definition of phases, milestones and objectives
* assess and manage project governance, reporting, risk mitigation and data integrity
* collaborate with stakeholders, facilitate cross-functional teamwork, develop and maintain relationships with internal project partners.
About you:
* demonstrated project management experience of large and complex projects
* experience in the management of significant human and material resources
* experience managing multiple projects with multiple work streams
* significant experience collaborating with and managing a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
* project management certification (Prince2) highly desirable.
