**About the Role**
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Team Leader to guide and support our Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (YMHWS). In this role, you will work closely with Consultant Psychiatrists to provide day-to-day leadership for a multidisciplinary team, including individuals with lived and living experience in mental health. As Team Leader, you will use your strong leadership abilities and clinical expertise to ensure the YMHWS team is well-supported, trained, and resourced. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, person-centred mental health care for young people, and their families, with an emphasis on safety, recovery, and making a real difference in their lives. The team is spread across multiple locations in the Grampians region, so some regional travel is required.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead daily operations of the YMHWS team, ensuring services meet clinical needs and KPIs.
- Monitor and improve team performance by implementing effective strategies.
- Foster a supportive work environment, encouraging professional growth and training opportunities.
- Conduct annual performance reviews, offering feedback and guidance for development.
- Address incidents and feedback, driving continuous improvement in service quality.
- Actively engage in governance meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance mental health services across the region.
**Skills & Experience**
**Essential**
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Post graduate qualification in Mental Health or have completed a specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing Program or a specialist post basic course of training; or
- Degree or Masters qualification in Social Work along with an Accredited Mental Health Social Work credential. Must be eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Minimum of 10 years' post graduate experience;or
- Degree or Masters qualification in Occupational Therapy and a minimum or 10 years' experience post graduate experience; or
- Specialist endorsement from Psychology Board of Australia.
**Desirable**
- Post graduate qualifications in Child and Adolescent Mental Health
- Qualification and/or training in a management and/or leadership field
The Victorian Government has allocated funds to support rural and regional Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide incentives to attract workers to roles that are difficult to fill.
The new workforce relocation and incentive grants program is being administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV).
