Calvary Mater Newcastle
Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a reliable and motivated Porter / Courier to join our Support Services team. This role plays an important part in supporting hospital operations by ensuring the safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment and critical items throughout the hospital.
Contract: Full‐time, 6‐month contract. Salary Classification: Hospital Assistant Grade 2. Remuneration: $30.21 per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging options.
Location: Newcastle, NSW, Australia. Shift times include day, afternoon and weekend shifts.
Shift Times
* 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
* 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
* 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
* 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
* 10:00 am – 6:30 pm
* 12:00 pm – 8:30 am
Key Responsibilities
* Transportation of patients and equipment.
* Assisting with transport of medical records.
* Movement of blood, blood products and pathology specimens.
* Assisting with pharmacy and pathology deliveries (including cytotoxic drugs) and other general courier duties.
* Working unsupervised and during periods of high demand and activity.
About You
* Commitment to providing professional customer service to patients, staff and members of the public in a timely manner.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Manual Handling and Infection Control principles, and privacy and confidentiality obligations.
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and to work independently as required.
* Commitment to further training with willingness and flexibility to relieve in higher grade positions.
