We are proud to partner with DCI Data Centres, leading the search to appoint a Cyber Security Engineer. DCI Data Centres are a rapidly growing wholesale data centre developer and operator backed by Brookfield Asset Management. Operating across Australia and New Zealand, with expansion underway in South Korea, DCI delivers highly secure, compliance-led infrastructure to enterprise and government customers. As the IT Cybersecurity Engineer you'll be implementing and operating effective security controls that protect the Data Centers' IT and OT environments from cyber threats. The role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, identities, networks, and data across corporate, cloud and data centre operations. Working closely with IT leadership and key stakeholders, you'll drive security uplift initiatives, incident response, and continuous improvement of the security posture, embedding Zero Trust principles and industry best practices into day‑to‑day operations and strategic initiatives. THE ROLE: Manage and secure Microsoft 365 and Entra ID security capabilities, including Defender for Office 365, Conditional Access Policies, MFA enforcement, and identity governance Manage and maintain endpoint security services such as Microsoft Defender XDR and Cloudflare Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA). Assist in the design and deployment of cyber‑uplift initiatives across OT networks, server environments, identity systems, and access management platforms. Ensure Active Directory security is maintained, monitored, and benchmarked against established best practices. Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents across cloud and on‑prem environments, document findings and drive remediation. Support organisation‑wide security risk assessments and vulnerability management, including remediation planning and hardening programs. Lead and own incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, post‑incident reviews, and follow‑up improvements. Review, optimise, and document firewall rulesets; design and validate network segmentation (macro/micro) aligned to Zero Trust principles. Operate and troubleshoot security infrastructure such as IDS/IPS, WAF, and network monitoring/packet analysis tooling; integrate relevant telemetry into SOC workflows. Assess cloud and SaaS architectures for risk; recommend and implement hardening and monitoring improvements across Azure and multi‑cloud estates. Apply secure configuration baselines (e.g., CIS Benchmarks) and hardening standards to Windows/Linux servers and core services; maintain logging/telemetry baselines. YOU: Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP highly desirable. ITIL 4 qualification is desired but not required. 5 years' experience in Cyber Security Engineering, Information Security, or a closely related technical role. Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID security tooling, including Conditional Access, SAML/SSO, MFA, and Intune. Prior background in IT systems, networks, or infrastructure before transitioning into security is highly desirable. Hands‑on experience with endpoint detection and response technologies such as Microsoft Defender XDR. Experience with DISP and DSPF security highly regarded. Network security fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, segmentation, DNS; VPNs (site‑to‑site/remote), SSL/TLS, and certificate lifecycle management. Azure security: Defender for Cloud, PIM/PAM, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Key Vault, Policy/Blueprints; nice‑to‑have AWS/GCP security (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail/CloudWatch, GuardDuty). Secure configuration management and change control; ability to produce standards and hardening guides; threat‑modelling mindset (translate risks into preventive/detective controls). Ability to troubleshoot independently and contribute to security automation initiatives (e.g., PowerShell/Python/KQL, orchestration/logic apps).
