About the role
Lake and Valley Optical and Port Stephens Optical in Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley NSW are seeking an energetic and dedicated Trainee Optical Dispenser to join our team. As a Trainee Optical Dispenser, you will learn the ins and outs of optical dispensing, working alongside our experienced team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure our patients receive the best possible care. This is a full-time role based in our modern and well-equipped optical practices located in the heart of the Hunter. You will be rostered between our four practice locations, so reliable transport is a must.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting patients in selecting the right frames and lenses to meet their vision needs
2. Measuring and fitting patients for their prescription eyewear
3. Educating patients on lens options and coatings to enhance their visual experience
4. Maintaining accurate patient records and order tracking
5. Providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with our patients
6. Undertaking training via a Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing and in practice to develop your optical dispensing skills and knowledge
What we're looking for
1. A passion for providing exceptional customer service and making a positive difference in people's lives
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of patients
3. Attention to detail and a keen eye for style and aesthetics
4. A willingness to learn and develop your optical dispensing skills
5. Previous experience in a customer service or retail role is desirable but not essential
