Austral Fisheries is looking for an Internal Auditor, responsible for overseeing and directing the financial and corporate functions of the Group, as well as assisting the CFO in its overall management and strategic direction.
Co-ordinate and manage financial accounting requirements:
- Assess major capital expenditure -including assessments, feasibilities and post capital expenditure reviews.
- Manage cash flow and treasury functions.
- Manage half yearly and annual reporting for Japan.
- Manage, maintain and develop relationships with financial institutions and prepare half yearly and annual reports for them.
- Participate in business planning on behalf of the board.
- Attend all meeting of Directors & Shareholders.
Oversee management accounting activities:
- Manage the development, compilation, preparation and distribution of appropriate operational budgets
- Review monthly management accounts.
- Manage and assist with preparation of profit projections
Manage Profit Improvement Initiatives:
- Work with the Board, CEO & managers and staff on improving profitability across all areas of the business.
- Implement cost control policies & related reporting to assist in keeping expenditure within budget.
Effectively assess and manage risk:
- Oversee and manage all insurances.
- Ensure appropriate reporting is completed for all risk management areas.
Promote and adopt a proactive approach to occupational health and safety:
- Consider and adhere to occupational health and safety issues in all aspects of duties performed by division.
- Report all observed safety incidents and hazards and recommend improvements, where appropriate.
- Review all business risks and report back to the board of all OH&S and governance reporting.
Skills and Attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business with CA or CPA qualifications ( or equivalent experience)
- Combined minimum of 8 years experience in both financial and management accounting
- Up to 5 years experience managing/ supervising staff
- Sound experience in financial management/ budgeting and cost control
- Competent user of accounting packages and sound knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Sound ability to liaise effectively with all levels of industry participants
- Qualifications / experience in company secretarial matters
