About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and efficient payroll services across the organisation. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong numerical skills and a commitment to ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This permanent part‐time position is based in our Currambine Support Office and operates on a 3‐day/2‐day fortnightly roster.
You will:
* Process end‐to‐end payroll through Employment Hero
* Calculate employee entitlements including leave accruals, allowances, penalties, and termination payments
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance
* Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, awards, and superannuation requirements
* Reconcile payroll‐related accounts and assist with monthly and end‐of‐year reporting
* Process Employee Insurance Claims and trainee wage subsidy claims
* Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
* Stay informed of legislative changes and industry requirements
About You
You are an experienced payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, confidentiality, and delivering exceptional service.
You will bring:
* 3+ years' experience in a high‐volume payroll environment
* Strong numerical aptitude and confidence working with payroll calculations, reconciliations and data analysis
* Proven ability to identify anomalies and investigate payroll variances with a high degree of accuracy
* Strong knowledge of Australian awards and payroll legislation including payroll tax, superannuation and statutory reporting
* Ability to manage competing priorities while meeting critical payroll deadlines
* High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee information
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
* Experience using Employment Hero or similar payroll systems
* Knowledge of Fair Work compliance and industry‐specific awards
* Previous payroll experience within the early learning sector
